Payments
Deposits, balances and tips are processed by Stripe. Your card or Apple Pay details go directly to Stripe and are never stored on our website. If you pay in cash, we record that the payment was made.
Information collected automatically
- Our own visit statistics. We count page views, which site sent you here, and your device type (phone, tablet or computer). To count unique visitors without cookies, we create an anonymous ID from your IP address and browser that changes every day. We do not store your IP address in these statistics, and we delete them after about 13 months.
- Google Analytics. We use Google Analytics to understand how visitors use our site. Google may set cookies and collect information such as your IP address, device and pages visited. Learn more at How Google uses information from sites that use its services, or opt out with the Google Analytics opt-out add-on.
- Meta (Facebook and Instagram) Pixel. We use the Meta Pixel to measure our ads and show our ads to people who have visited our site. Meta may set cookies and collect information about your visit. You can manage this in your Facebook ad preferences.
- Server and security logs. Our hosting provider and security tools record technical information such as IP addresses and browser type to keep the site running and protect it from abuse.
- Embedded content. Our site loads fonts and review content from outside services, such as Google. These services may receive your IP address when they load.
How we use your information
- To schedule, confirm and perform your service, including finding your vehicle and working out any travel fee.
- To take payments, send receipts, and handle refunds and cancellations.
- To text, call or email you about your booking, such as confirmations, arrival updates, a note when your car is ready, payment links and a request for a review.
- To answer your questions and provide customer support.
- To understand how our website is used and improve it, and to measure our advertising.
- To prevent fraud, protect our business and comply with the law, including tax and accounting rules.
Text messages
When you give us your mobile number with a booking, you agree that we may text you about that booking: confirmations, scheduling, arrival updates, notices when your vehicle is ready, payment links, receipts and review requests. Message frequency varies with your booking. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to stop texts, or HELP for help. You can also text or email us any time.
We do not sell, rent or share your mobile number or text messaging consent with anyone for their own marketing.
Who we share information with
We do not sell your personal information. We share it only with service providers that help us run our business, and only as needed for them to do that work:
- Stripe, to process payments.
- Our web host (Hostinger), which stores our website and booking records and sends our emails.
- Google, for website analytics, map directions to your address, and fonts.
- Meta, to measure and improve our ads.
- The U.S. Census Bureau geocoding service, which turns your address into a location so we can calculate the distance and any travel fee.
- Our notification service (ntfy), which sends booking alerts, including booking details, to our own phones.
- Phone and messaging carriers, to deliver texts and calls.
- Our backup provider (Google Drive), which stores backup copies of our website, including booking records, for recovery.
We may also share information if the law requires it, to protect our rights or safety or those of others, or as part of a sale or transfer of our business.
Cookies and your choices
You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings, and use the opt-out links above for Google and Meta. Our own visit statistics do not use cookies. Our site does not currently respond to browser "Do Not Track" signals. Google and Meta may collect information about your online activity over time and across different websites.
How long we keep information
We keep booking and payment records as long as we need them to provide our services and to meet tax, accounting and legal requirements, generally up to seven years. Our own visit statistics are deleted after about 13 months. Vehicle photos are kept while they are useful to document our work.
How we protect information
Our site uses an encrypted (HTTPS) connection, payments are handled by Stripe, and only we can access our booking records. No method of storage or transmission is completely secure, but we work to protect your information.
Your California privacy rights
You can ask us to tell you what personal information we have about you, correct it, or delete it, subject to records we must keep by law. Under California's "Shine the Light" law, you can ask whether we share personal information with third parties for their own direct marketing. We do not. To make a request, contact us using the details below. We will not treat you differently for making a request.
Children
Our services are for adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has given us information, contact us and we will delete it.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we will change the effective date at the top of this page. Significant changes will be posted on this page.
